Celebrate National Margarita Day Jimmy Buffet Style

There is a drink that is the very spirit of joy, the patron angel of fun, the joyous expression of life at its complete best. That drink is called the Margarita, and when it’s a hot day and you are reuniting with friends, there’s nothing more satisfying to drink and bring everyone together.

National Margarita Day celebrates this fantastic drink, and the wide variety of tastes and colors it comes in. You must experience what some ice-cold tequila, a little salt, and a wedge of lime can do!

History of National Margarita Day

Margarita Day was created by a national margarita website to help celebrate this fantastic drink. This year this holiday is celebrated on Saturday, February 22nd. Among the greatest qualities about the Margarita is the number of flavors, from Blueberry Basil Margaritas to the greatly more punchy Strawberry Sriracha Margarita.

There’s a Margarita for every occasion, and National Margarita Day is your excuse to try them all. However, do be careful, Tequila has been proven to T’kill’ya if you drink too much, or at least it may make you wish you were dead.

The history of the Margarita is diverse and somewhat mysterious, and there are numerous stories. One of them says it was discovered at Rancho La Gloriadown by Tijuana, Carlos “Danny” Herrera made the recipe for Marjorie King.

Another claim states it was formed by Santos Cruz in Galveston, Texas, for a beloved friend of his, singer Patty Lee. No one knows which is accurate, and obviously, these are simply a few of the tales of its creation; they all maybe!

How To Celebrate Margarita Day

Stir together 1/2 cup water and 1/2 cup sugar, in a little pan, with 6-8 basil leaves and boil it till the sugar melts, and then combine it with the roasted blueberries until it’s completely mixed. You can leave the blueberry chunks in or run it through a strainer, your call.
